GUT MICROBIOME TESTING
The gut microbiome is the ecosystem of microbes within the large intestine and is foundational to so many aspects of health; from GI disorders to autoimmune conditions, immune system function, hormone metabolism, mood, digestion of foods, skin conditions, and nutrient absorption, just to name a few.
We see many clients in the clinic with chronic and complex gut issues, those who have tried all the different diets yet are still not symptom free.
When we understand exactly what is going on in the gut, we are able to save time (and money) by getting to the root of your digestive issues and creating a resilient and stable microbiome for the long term (not quick fixes that only last a month).
We utilise Microba gut microbiome testing for these types of clients as it is the most comprehensive test for gastrointestinal markers, microbial markers, short chain fatty acid production, and pathogen detection.

Book an initial consultation first and we will start addressing your gut issues and other health concerns, and assess whether testing is necessary and which level of testing may be the most suitable (Best option for if you also have other health concerns you want to address in your first appointment, and/or if testing isn’t in the budget right now)
Book a free discovery call to have a quick run through of your suitability for gut testing and we will create the referral for you to order your gut microbiome test, then book your initial appointment for 4-5 weeks time where we will review your test results, overall health check, and start your treatment plan. (Best option for if you know you want to go ahead with gut microbiome testing and have already tried other strategies in the past with no success)
Children
While we certainly do work with children of all ages and can test their gut microbiome, we request that you book a children’s initial appointment first to get an understanding of their health history and current diet to ensure we are only testing if necessary and to select the most appropriate level of testing, given children’s unique microbiome composition that is rapidly changing over these formative years. Certain markers that provide useful insight in adults are not clinically validated in children until their microbiome is more mature.
Adults
There are two levels of testing available that we currently recommend
Microba - Microbiome Explorer Extended
Microba - Microbiome Explorer Comprehensive
Both tests include 7 diagnostic GI markers and 16 microbial markers, however only the Microbiome Explorer Comprehensive contains the targeted pathogen panel (parasites and viral pathogens).
If you have already had parasites and pathogens ruled out via testing with your GP, the Extended test may be most suitable. If we suspect pathogens may be present based on your results and consultation, we will refer you to your GP to have these tested.
If you have concerns about parasite exposure or want the peace of mind that there are no pathogens present, the Comprehensive test provides this level of information.

By ordering a gut microbiome test through Earth and Seed Nutrition you acknowledge you will need to book an initial consult (additional cost) to obtain your results - this is for our duty of care to explain your test results and adhere to professional standards.
